Description

Periwinkle Laine is delighted to continue its collaboration with Island artist Tony Diodati, transforming his beautiful Prince Edward Island paintings into hand-drawn rug hooking patterns that capture the charm and character of Island life.

North Rustico Lighthouse features one of Prince Edward Island’s most recognizable landmarks. Standing watch over North Rustico Harbour since 1876, this iconic lighthouse has guided generations of local fishers safely home while becoming a treasured destination for visitors exploring the Island’s north shore. The unique two-storey lighthouse with its attached former keeper’s dwelling is one of only four remaining lighthouses of this style on Prince Edward Island, making it an important part of the Island’s maritime heritage.

Adding colour and character to the scene are a collection of brightly coloured kayaks resting upside down on their wooden stands, waiting for the right tide and the next adventure beyond the harbour into the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Measuring 11″ x 22″, this pattern offers a wonderful opportunity to explore colour, texture, and shading while bringing an Island landmark to life in wool. As with all Periwinkle Laine patterns, it is hand-drawn on 100% linen, features generous borders for finishing, and is professionally serged to help prevent fraying while you work.

Each of Tony Diodati’s rug hooking patterns comes with a certificate of authorization from the artist. This means Tony has given permission for his artwork to be recreated as a hooked rug, but it cannot be reproduced or adapted in any other form. The pattern is intended for personal use only and should not be sold. When displaying or exhibiting your finished rug, please credit Tony Diodati as the original artist.
