Periwinkle Laine is a partnership, owned jointly by Charlene Miller and Debbie Miller. It is a new enterprise and operates on Prince Edward Island.
Periwinkle Laine provides high quality goods and services for the rug hooking craft and fibre arts industry.
The Partners
Charlene Miller has been rug hooking for approximately 20 years and is a self-described colouraholic. She has attended numerous workshops, classes and rug shows across Canada and the US.
She has introduced many to the art of rug hooking and has been delivering classes, through PEI’s Community Schools, for over 10 years.
Charlene loves to dye. For her the process itself brings as much joy as the results. Her knowledge of natural and chemical dyes is extensive.
The Partners
Debbie Miller brings a vast knowledge of design and colour theory into rug hooking. She has participated in many workshops across North America to develop these skills.
She has painted oils, acrylics and water colours for over 25 years. In retirement she has transferred these skills into rug hooking.
In 2020, she became a juried member of the PEI Arts and Craft Guild for rug hooking. In 2019, one of her rugs was included in a North American Rug hooking book – Eyes Open to the World.
During the past 7 years she has actively designed her own patterns for her own use and also her rug-hooking pals.
