Our Hook-Ins are a joyful, welcoming gathering space for rug hookers of all experience levels—from brand-new beginners pulling their very first loops to seasoned creators who have been hooking for years. Whether you’re curious, rusty, or raring to go, you’ll find encouragement, inspiration, and plenty of friendly faces ready to cheer you on.
It’s a relaxed, creative atmosphere where stories are shared, ideas flow freely, and everyone brings something unique to the frame. If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to try rug hooking…” — this is truly the perfect place to begin. We love seeing new people pick up a hook and discover just how fun and therapeutic this craft can be.
Each Hook-In also features our Periwinkle Laine pop-up shop, fully stocked with all the goodies a hooker could dream of: gorgeous wool fabrics, textured and hand-dyed yarns, patterns, cutters, frames, and those little specialty tools that make creating even more enjoyable. It’s your one-stop rug-hooking haven.

Periwinkle Laine Rug Hooking Classes
Periwinkle Laine’s classes are all about creativity, community, and learning in a fun, welcoming space. Whether you’re brand-new to rug hooking or an experienced maker looking to expand your skills, our workshops guide you through techniques, colour play, and plenty of hands-on practice. We offer classes independently and in partnership with select fibre festivals across Atlantic Canada.
We provide the tools and materials you need to get started, and we truly believe learning goes both ways—you learn from us, and we learn from you. Our classes are a wonderful way to meet new people, spark inspiration, and discover just how joyful rug hooking can be.

Pop-Up Sales
Our Periwinkle Laine Pop-Up Sales are lively, creative mini-markets filled to the brim with rug hooking inspiration. Sometimes we’re the sole vendor, and other times we team up with fellow fibre artists and makers—but no matter the setup, you’ll always find something interesting, colourful, and fresh.
Each pop-up is stocked with wool, patterns, tools, frames, cutters, kits, and all the little treasures rug hookers love. It’s a chance to browse, chat, discover new materials, and connect with others who share your passion for fibre art. We accept most major credit cards, debit, etransfer and cash.

Get ready for a warm, woolly, summer treat! Periwinkle Laine is hosting a solo pop-up sale packed to the rafters with everything a rug hooker loves—gorgeous wool fabric, colourful yarns, sari silk, patterns, dyes, frames, hooks, linen, tools, and so much more.
Come for the wool… stay for the fun… and still make it to the beach. It’s the perfect Charlottetown Saturday!
