We are thrilled to invite you to our ‘Brown Bag Party – The Reveal’, the culmination of our exciting Brown Bag Challenge which began in July 2023. This event has brought together 42 passionate rug hookers, each armed with a mysterious brown bag filled with an assortment of rug hooking treasures. The challenge was to create a rug hooking project using the materials provided (and others), showcase your creativity and skill, and most importantly, to have fun.
Date: December 2, 2023 Time: 9:30 AM – 2:30
PM Venue: St. Joachim’s Parish Hall, 5376 Georgetown Rd, Rte 3, Vernon River, Prince Edward Island
Who: Brown Baggers and all Hookers who would like to share in the fun and creativity
At the Brown Bag Party, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the creative genius of the ‘Brown Baggers’, as they display their one-of-a-kind creations made from the contents of their brown bags. The event is open to everyone, regardless of whether you participated in the challenge or not.
What to expect:
- Games, cake, and prizes
- Phenomenal display of creative hooked items
- Best in show award (voted on by attendees)
- Door prizes and draws for “Periwinkle Laine” dollars
- Friends, laughter and wool
If you participated in the Brown Bag Challenge, kindly bring your “hooked creation” (in a brown bag) for display. For everyone, please bring your lunch and consider bringing an item to share on the sweet table.
For off-Island participants, please email pictures of the contents of your original bag and your finished masterpiece to Charlene at periwinklelaine@gmail.com no later than Thursday, November 30, 2023. These pictures will be printed and displayed at the Brown Bag Party so they can be included in the Best in Show. Pictures of all masterpieces will be published on Periwinkle Laine’s website.
