Denim jackets have had their ups and downs in the fashion world, but they always seem to make a stylish return. Whether it was the cool, rebellious vibe of your younger years, a statement piece during a big life change, or just a trusty favorite, there’s a good chance you’ve got one hiding in your closet. Well, now’s the time to bring it back to life—let them become your next rug hooking project!
This is a two (2) day course: January 19, 2025 & April 19, 2025
What to Expect:
For Sewers: If you’re a sewer and want to add the linen panel to your jacket, you’ll receive instructions. It’s not difficult, but it does require some machine sewing experience or skills.
For Non-Sewers: If sewing’s not your thing, no sweat! Just drop off your freshly cleaned denim jacket to Periwinkle Laine by December 31, 2024, and we’ll insert the linen for you.
Need Help Designing a Pattern? Need help designing a pattern for your jacket? No worries—we’ve got you covered with plenty of ideas and guidance! We’ll have a variety of 60’s-style templates (flowers, peace signs, and more) to help inspire your design.
Not Hooking Yet? Well, you’ll need a bit of rug hooking experience for this project—but if you’ve got that, you’re ready to rock!
Here’s How It Works:
Part I Getting Started:
On Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Beaconsfield’s Carriage House (2 Kent St. Charlottetown, PE) you’ll learn all about the workshop, pick out designs, and receive guidance on hooking the back panel of your jacket.
Part II – Hooking Your Design:
From January 19th until April19, 2025, you’ll work on hooking the panel for your jacket. You’ll make it your own by adding your own unique flair!
Part III – Finishing Touches:
Finally, on Saturday, April 19, 2025 (Charlottetown, PEI – exact location to be confirmed) , you’ll return for the last part of the workshop, where you’ll learn how to finish your jacket like a pro, making sure it’s not just a work of art but wearable too!
